Origin Finland
The leaves are collected in spring and early summer before flowering when the leaves are 10–15 cm in size. The leaves are collected by hand or with scissors by cutting off only 2/3 of the top part. Harvesting machines are used on farms. In southern Finland, leaf collection time is before Midsummer, in northern Finland before mid-July. The roots are collected either in the spring before flowering or in late autumn when the leaves wither. The flowers are picked when they open and the flower buds are as young as possible. The roots are dug with a shovel or a root lifter.
